 2008 General Election Results Now Official

DES MOINES – Today, members of the Executive Council convened as the State Canvassing Board to certify the final election results from two close races that had been recounted in their respective districts (House District 8 and 37).

 In House District 8, Democrat Dolores Mertz finished 43 votes ahead of Republican Stephen Richards. In House District 37, Republican Renee Schulte finished 13 votes ahead of Democrat Art Staed.

 All results from the 2008 General Election are official.
